About Us

In today’s age of instant information, news organizations face the daunting task of filtering a world full of stories into the news. The reality is many newsworthy stories don’t get covered simply because media don’t know about them, or details are not properly presented to journalists.

Many news organizations are reducing staff and budgets, leaving fewer reporters to juggle more information than ever before. While most journalists would probably love to hear every story idea from the general public, they simply don’t have time. That’s where we come in. I Should Be In The News leverages a network of PR people from across the country... passionate professionals who work with media every day and understand how to present a story idea.  We review story ideas submitted from the general public, and if we believe a story is newsworthy, our PR volunteers work to share that story with media.  I Should Be In The News was founded by Joe Cockrell, a former journalist and PR professional who envisioned a free public resource for communicating with news organizations.  Tell us your story.
